No sound on recordings

Since a couple of weeks ago, my SRP-2100TMS started to make recordings with no sound on Dutch RTL4 channel and some other channels, the picture also freezes a fraction of a second now and then. Other channels record fine and everything is OK when played live...

What I don't understand is how a recording can miss the sound if it was playable during the same live broadcast ?

It happens both with timer recordings and if I press record when watching a channel. Even recordings with 'blue' (decoded) symbol has no sound.

Timeshift: same thing, no sound ...

Please - any ideas ?

Have tried:
- Factory reset and new channels search
- Install March firmware (was December when fault started)

have you tried to play the rec file on a pc with vlc player?

Same problem here. I think it have something to do with the extra protection Canaal Digitaal have done on some channels. I have normal a aston ci but the problem still exsist with the Canaal Digitaal ci. I think we have to go to our provider but I think they will say its your problem because you don't have a certified reciever. Or Topfield have to do something with the firmware which can handel the extra protection.

Same problem at Animax (SKY Germany), which is provided by CANALDIGITAAL (info from SetEdit).

live => no problem
timeshift => no sound
record => no sound

I have setup my old TF-4000 and it works !!! (but picture looks awfull when used to the SRP-2100)

So it seems to be a combination of receiver type and the new coding then :'(

I wish we could get Topfield to look into this problem...

@Twilight: Does it work for you, or do you not have posibility to test the channels mentioned in the thread ?

@Alter Sack, @Michael: I see you too have other Topfield receivers - does it work with those ? Can we say the problem is isolated to the SRP-2100 ?

UPDATE: I think I found a solution. I was using Dec 2010 firmware when problem started, then tried march 2011 test firmware, both failed. This evening I tried Sep 08 2010 and Yepiiiiiiiiiiiii - so far every recording works :-)

@dmelhede is shoutcast or you tube working with this firmware? I have the beta firmware from 18 feb 2011 on mine 2100.

It seems so, that it is a problem of the SRP.

I've only tested the 5500PVR, there it works, but I'm only able to test with Animax.

- Recordings still working today, even a timed event :-)
