1) TMSRemote on a PC.

2) TMSRemote module that is shipped with WebControl, but is not part of WebControl.

If you are having the error with the control tab. It is not meant to be a full replacement for TMSRemote, just for issuing quick commands. If you click on the image, you can refresh it manually. Otherwise, the image only refreshes when a button is clicked.

Are you accessing the config screen by using TMSCommander to activate it? Or are you loading WebControl-Config manually? Have you tried both? Is there a difference?

Do you see the same symptoms when WebControl and TMSRemote are the only TAPs running? If not, load your other TAPs one by one until you find the culprit.

As you see in my signature I don't use TMSCommander. I'm using iTina to start, stop and configure it (by using the OK-button of the included remote-control-picture).

Well, to be honest - I don't have time to investigate this issue as I have to run to the Toppy, start it, run back to PC and start TMSRemote, have a look, go back, shut down and do the same with the next setting.

Thanks for your help. But I will remove it as it's only useable in my intranet at home (there's no app for Windows or other kind of remote access except TFIR in combination of the working webserver of Topfield available) and it makes to much trouble for me...

The problem does also occur when using the normal Topfield remote control:
I've done the following tests:
1) start SRP with standard remote and pressing 0 -> no TAPs running
2) start WebControl-Config -> Config screen comes up normally
3) start SmartEPG with clock disabled
4) start WebControl-Config -> Config screen comes up normally
5) enable clock in SmartEPG
6) start WebControl-Config -> Config screen blinks for a part of a second and normal TV screen is shown
7) press OK -> keyboard screen to change PVR name shows up
8) press EXIT -> WebControl-Config screen shows up

all this can simply be done with the normal remote control and is therefore the same in WebControl and TMSREMOTE

Thanks for taking the time to do some testing. With your description, I was able to recreate the error on my PVR and devise a workaround.

Unfortunately, I am not happy with this workaround because INFplus uses exactly the same configuration functions and it does not have the problem.

I will consult with FireBird.

After consultation with FireBird, the problem with WebControl-Config and the SmartEPG clock has been fixed. It will be available in the next release of WebControl.

Version 1.20 is now available on TAPtoDate.

This updated version contains a number of bug fixes and new features:

• The default authentication mode for new users is now "External Only".
• Fix compatibility issue between WebControl-Config and SmartEPG when the clock is shown. (Thanks FireBird)
• Limit the total number of logos to 2000 to prevent WebControl-Config from crashing when the resulting logo file is too big.
• Ability to manually prevent automatic logo generation by adding "noautologos=1" into the INI file.
• Changed logo search method so that the "safe PC name" is now aligned with the SmartEPG logo name. For example "Channel One!" used to be "channel one!" and is now "channelone".
• Remove additional control characters from JSON text.
• New "About WebControl" tab on the web interface to display version numbers, etc.
• New "Channel per Page" EPG view option.
• Automatically detect new web modules and optionally add them to the active modules.
• Additional support for Australian models with AV input capabilities.
• Fix an issue with deleting multiple reservations in a specific sequence.
• Keep the menu visible at the top of the browser window at all times.
• Improved error messages on failed file operations.

Dieses Update enthält eine Reihe von Bugfixs und neuen Features:

• Die voreingestellte Authentifizierungsmodus ist nun „Bei externem Zugriff“.

• Geänderte Logo Suchmethode, so dass nun der PC konforme Name mit dem SmartEPG Logo-Namen übereinstimmt. Z.B. bei "Channel One!" wird nun statt nach "channel one!" nach "channelone" gesucht.
• Textfilter für die JSON Ausgabe verbessert.
• Neue "Über WebControl" Seite um Versionsnummern, etc. anzuzeigen.
• Neue EPG Ansicht "EPG pro Sender".
• Neue Module werden nun beim Start erkannt und können gleich „installiert“, also zu den verwendeten Modulen hinzugefügt werden.
• Unterstützung für Australische Modelle mit AV Eingang.
• Problem bei der Referenzierung von Timern behoben.
• Die Menüleiste bleibt nun ständig am oberen Rand sichtbar.
• Verbesserte Fehlermeldungen bei fehlgeschlagenen Dateioperationen.

During my tests I found following reproducable entry in the log file:

error in window.onerror

The error occurs if I go first to EPG Grid and then to EPG Sender

Seit dem Update auf Version 1.20 werden nach dem Aufruf von WebControl im Browser Benutzername und Passwort verlangt. Es kommt folgendes Windows Sicherheits-Fenster: "Der Server 192.168.XXX.XXX fordert Ihren Benutzernamen und Ihr Kennwort an. Der Server ist von WebControl". Meine Zugangsdaten werden aber nicht akzeptiert.

Probier's mal mit "bei externem Zugriff".

What browser and version are you using? Have you tried with another browser?

Remember, both the username and password are case-sensitive.

What authentication setting are you using in WebControl-Config?

As a last resort, you could try deleting /ProgramFiles/Settings/WebControl/WebControl.ini and saving your configuration again.

Also, try 192.168.XXX.XXX:8000/

Without the ":8000" you are using the PVR's standard web interface.
