EPG scan and Filescan for Scrambleflag issues

#1

Beitrag von pinthenet »

I switched to SmartEPG_TMS last week and it is running very well on my 2401CI, except for 2 strange effects after power on and with the daily EPG scan.
FW is SRP-2401CiPlus_22130-2012Aug27, SmartEPG is 3.2

1: Filescan for Scrambleflag
this seems to run every time SmartEPG starts and can take up to 20 minutes to complete. During this time I can only watch the current channel and the system & SmartEPG interfaces are blocked. In the attached log the effect can be seen at 2012-09-12 03:57:35 (20 mins) and at 2012-09-12 09:36:58 (7 minutes).

Is there a way to control or suppress this scan? Does it need to run at every start?

2: EPG sequence
I have the scan start set to 0400 with 'switch off after scan'. The timer list shows 03:59 as start time.
In the attached log the box starts at 03:56, it starts to do some checks then does nothing until I switched the box off around 07:10. A couple of minutes later it switched itself back on, performed the EPG scan, then shutdown (there was no 'filescan' during this sequence). At 09:35 I switched the box on to check the log.

I assume I have conflicting settings somewhere?

I initially installed SmartEPG V2.9c using TapToDate, then manually updated to 3.1d, before a final TapToDate update to 3.2. Initially I set the scan start to 0600 (I think) with end time of 09:00. I notice that V3.x still seems to have an end time in the ini file, but not in the GUI. I modfied the ScanEndSlot in the ini file to 0600 (value 12?) in case that was causing a problem. I modified the start to 0400.

I also attached my ini file in case there's a clue there.
The log file is reduced to last night and this morning - the full log goes back to 4/9 when I did the initial install of 2.9c.

Thanks in advance
John

I managed to solve issue1 - the filescan. I have a filesystem mounted from another linux machine that runs tgdbuilder once a day to get English EPGs. I used a mount point that contained 100s of video files. I now remounted just the EPG folder and the scan finishes within a second :o I think RebuildNAV was scanning this too?

Maybe this affects the EPG scan too - can't wait for tomorrow

try to use the api scan.
and look if the channel you want to use (channel list point 1 in settings) are set to scan.

try to use the api scan.
I have that set
and look if the channel you want to use (channel list point 1 in settings) are set to scan.
I have that too but the first channel is SF1 HD and I set it to Multichannel EPG based on the comment in the manual:
The "Scan multichannel EPG" option is only useful for some Swiss users.

I'll switch to normal scan for tonight

Thanks for the tips
John

This morning all looked good, the machine had shut down (or never started). I'll check the log this evening to confirm that the EPG scan ran
