Hallo Markus!

Wenn ich den Bildschirmschoner aktiviert habe und anschließend den Film wieder starten möchte, muss ich 2 mal die Play-Taste drücken. Nach dem 1. Druck erscheint wieder das Standbild und erst nach dem 2. Druck beginnt die Wiedergabe. Ist das so gewollt oder ein Bug?

Filer muss von nix überzeugt werden. Der macht, was ich will .

I tried the latest version 2.11b on my new 750GB SATA drive and have some comments:

• I first deleted Filer.db in order to start afresh. I used my existing Filer.ini (with IgnoreMP3Dir=0) As I have nearly 2000 mp3's and nearly 400GB of recordings the scan took about 5 minutes (which was not a problem). The problem started when the square disc icon (top left of screen) disappeared and I thought that the scan was complete and that I would have full control of the Toppy; I did not! It simply froze and I could not do anything. As I thought something had gone wrong I "forced" the Toppy off then back on (with no TAPs loading) and checked the settings folder: There was no filer.db! So I started again (with no other TAPs running) and after another 5 minutes the disc icon went away and once more I had no control. This time I waited a few more minutes and eventually the Toppy responded to the remote control keys. Hooray!
  It seems (and I may be wrong) that it was still [heavily] processing information after the icon had "prematurely" gone away, i.e.too soon. Previously (v2.1) scanning never froze the Toppy (not even momentarily) and you could still do other things. I don't know whether or not all this has something to do with my new drive or is a fundamental characteristic of the latest Filer. Of course once this initial (and once only) scanning phase is complete it's all hunky dory as before.
• Cut function won't work on the 5800 because we don't have the |< and >| keys so presumably you can't emulate these keys (plus cut function on 5800 is RKEY_F4). Perhaps, for the 5800, this option should be switched off.

Hi,
The last beta was also slowing down my system compared with v2.20. The filer scan for new files took noticeably longer and I also had a few occasions where after stopping a recording the screen stayed black and the system was unresponsive for a few seconds.


I have recompiled the last beta with DBIdle back to 50 again and have been running it for about a week now. The system is as fast as with v2.20. also the issues after stopping a recording seem to be gone.
