TF5000PVR New Firmware (Jul-2007)

Hello Topfield users.

I have to say that you've got a vast and fantastic german Topfield forum but, unfortunately there isn't any spanish one and I am unable to understand the meaning of what you are talking about in your posts (I'm sorry but I was attempting to translate without any positive results) so I'll try this forum section to beg your comprehension and ask for some english comments, you only have to enter any arabian, japanise or russian web page to understand how difficult could be even to manage with the menu bar. For instance, I would like to add my configuration into the posts as you do but It would be a terrible task of trials and errors.

I've seen there is a debate about the latest firmware (Jul'07) for the TF5000PVR. I've got the previous version (Jan'07) so I am not sure whether upgrade it or not.

1. Could someone post here some information about the new firmware pros and cons?
2. Do you recommend any firm version different to Jan'07?

This is a translation of Alter Sack's list
-when using P-Timer the toppy will switch off afterwards
-switching channels is faster
-DiSEqC 1.2 has been removed

-EPG might show fewer events than January Fw
-some users report problems on TF5500

Some people have switched backed to the old firmware and some have kept it.
I think you have to try if it works for you.

pros:
- your 5000PVR will shut down after automatic started p-timers (usually used for EPG scans)
- faster switchingof channels
- no interferences after switching a channel

cons:
- no more disecq 1.2
- less epg events after scanning by TAPs (eg Jags EPG / 3PG)

I prefer the fw of Sept 05 at this time.
You can see the firmware version used by the forum members in their signature mostly.

Bitte wo findet man eine alte Firmware für den TF 5000 PVR!
Die vorhandenen reichen nur bis ins Jahr 2007 zurück und
bei allen fehlt der wichtige Menuepunkt "ÜBERSPRINGEN" .
Für eine hilfreiche Nachricht wäre ich sehr dankbar.

Nimm die Januar 2007 und arbeite mit TopSet. Dort kannst du firmwareunabhängig den
Punkt "Überspringen" für jeden Sender anwählen.
